Thank you to all the past and present Veterans. Today we celebrated 4 of our own Veterans here at Bickford of Iowa City. We have 3 wonderful residents and one wonderful employee; Devin, Harry, John, and Darryll. Started out the morning with a Veterans Day service with Pastor Mike, to Barb playing piano before lunch, and then an ice cream social in the afternoon to finish off the day. We here at Bickford of Iowa City are honored to have our Veteran’s to call us their home. Thank you to all Veteran’s.

Devin our wonderful maintenance coordinator made this old bench new again. He took it apart, fixed it, and then restained it. This bench sits in the bird feeder area.

We tried something new for exercise. We played chair kick ball. It was a big hit. We just didn't always kick the ball there was passing it back and forth by throwing it as well. The residents who played loved it.

The Joy of Music with Megan. We just love live music here. The residents even use some beat sticks to beat to the rhythm of the music.

We have definitely seen improvements in communication and quality of care. Another staff departure is concerning.

My sisters report that Mom 's room is clean and smells good, and that there is water by her chair. Those are tangible improvements; that's what we like to see. Keep up the good work!
