We had a striking good time out at our local bowling alley today! Nothing like hearing those pins crash and cheering each other on. We rolled in ready, picked up a few spares, and a couple strikes. The competition was friendly, the laughs were loud, and the high-fives were plenty! There is something so beautiful about purpose. One of our sweet residents loves to stay busy, and we love making space for that! Through our Montessori approach, we focus on abilities, not limitations. Today she spent time folding towels from our “Busy Box” and later jumped right in to help our caregivers fold table linens and napkins in the laundry room. These aren’t just tasks… they are meaningful moments. Folding, sorting, helping it gives her a sense of contribution, dignity, and belonging. You can see the pride on her face when she’s working alongside the team. And truly, we are better because of her helping hands. Montessori reminds us that everyone has a purpose, and when we nurture that purpose, confidence grows. Rack ‘em up! We brought out our mini pool table and let the games begin! Our guys were in full “coach mode,” teaching strategies, demonstrating trick shots, and sharing their best pool wisdom. Let’s just say… things got competitive in the best way. There’s something special about watching friendships grow over a game table. Lots of laughs, a little friendly smack talk, and plenty of high fives. We’ve also been loving our continued time with our friends from Indra House coming to play games with us. What a beautiful Presidents’ Day here at Bickford! We have been soaking up the sunshine and enjoying every bit of this gorgeous day together. Some of our residents tapped into their creative side building with Lincoln Logs, while others relaxed outside, enjoying fresh air and sweet conversation with friends. With the excitement of the Daytona 500 yesterday, the fun carried right into today! Our residents had a blast racing remote control cars and playing a lively race car game. There were lots of laughs, a little friendly competition, and plenty of cheering each other on! Days like today remind us how special it is to gather, socialize, and simply have fun together. We celebrated Valentine’s Day the best way we know how, together With music playing, a little dancing, sweet cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and festive drinks, the room was filled with smiles and laughter. We also watched part of the Pearl Ceremony, which was a true tear-jerker and such a special moment of pride for our home.
