Today for National Day of Prayer, here at Bickford we honor and respect all religions and faith traditions. We were delighted to welcome St. John Vianney Catholic Church for Catholic service and communion today. Moments of prayer, reflection, and fellowship bring comfort, peace, and connection to our residents and families.

Yesterday was a fun-filled day here at Bickford! We kicked things off with some energizing chair Zumba, getting everyone moving and smiling. Afterward, we slowed things down with relaxing manicures—because a little pampering goes a long way. In the spirit of appreciation, our residents created heartfelt thank-you cards for our local nurses, sharing gratitude for all they do in our community. We wrapped up the day by welcoming spring and getting creative, painting our very own birdhouses—each one as unique and colorful as the person who made it. Another beautiful day full of movement, creativity, and kindness!

On May 1st, we had the privilege of celebrating the Memories in the Making event—an evening dedicated to creativity, connection, and community. We are especially proud to share that our resident, Dottie, was selected to have her artwork featured in the live auction. Her beautiful painting raised an impressive $1,600 in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. Additionally, Squirrel participated in the silent auction, with his artwork contributing $230 toward this important cause. These meaningful pieces began with the guidance of our Montessori Engagement Coordinator, Christina, who worked closely with both residents as they created their paintings for submission and consideration for this special event. It was a truly memorable evening and a powerful reminder of how creativity can bring purpose, connection, and joy. We are honored to support such an important mission.

Bickford Assisted Living was off to the races as we celebrated the excitement of the Kentucky Derby! Our very own horses—Rose, Sea Foam, and Bluey—hit the track for a friendly race, with Sea Foam taking home the win! Residents had a blast cheering, laughing, and enjoying the thrill of Derby Day together. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, spirited competition, and great company. Another memorable day at Bickford!
