What a beautiful and joy-filled day here at Bickford of Urbandale! We started our morning with peaceful hearts as our very own Chaplain Bob led us in worship, featuring all of our favorite hymns. There’s nothing quite like starting the day with music that lifts the soul. This afternoon, we kept the music going with the incredible Jim Quales! His voice is amazing, but it’s his energy and connection with the audience that truly made the show unforgettable. We danced, sang along, and even shimmied in our seats — and yes, there was plenty of smiling and laughter to go around! To wrap up the day, some of us hopped on our Howie Bus for our twice-monthly shopping trip. With our lists in hand, we picked up some essentials for ourselves and even helped grab a few things for others too. Teamwork and community spirit at its best! What a FUN afternoon at Bickford of Urbandale! We kicked off the day with a high-energy game of balloon volleyball—lots of laughter, teamwork, and some serious skills on display! After all that excitement, we wound down with a relaxing craft session led by our wonderful friends Alyson and Lillie from Fox Therapy. Together, we made beautiful friendship bracelets, sharing stories, smiles, and creativity. Bickford is a great homey location for elderly and memory care. Staff are gentle and caring and all levels of the administration stay involved with the residents.

It is so good to know that our mother is cared for by people who care to put in the time with her. She has always been a social person and she receives lots of interaction with staff and other residents at Bickford. We, her family are grateful to know she is cared for when we can't be there with her.
