Our FA Miranda brought in some adorable baby chicks today Scott was all smiles getting to hold them and even snuck in some cuddles—safe to say it made his day!

Yesterday our tenants had a great time getting creative—making adorable bunnies using napkins, ribbon, and candy eggs! It was such a fun and festive activity, and the results were as sweet as the treats themselves. Thanks to everyone who joined in and made it so special!

Yesterday was full of fun and excitement as our residents learned a brand new game—Egg Bocce! There were plenty of laughs as everyone tried to carefully roll their egg as close to the target as possible… though no one was ever quite sure which way their egg would go! In the first round, Betty rolled her way to victory, getting closer than anyone else. In round two, Judy amazed everyone with a roll so close it looked like her egg was touching the target! A day filled with joy, surprises, and a little friendly competition—just the way we like it!

Today brought a little extra joy and excitement as residents gathered for a festive Easter egg hunt. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, anticipation, and a touch of friendly competition as everyone set out in search of hidden treasures. Among the participants, Scott and Betty could be seen strolling around together, carefully scanning every corner and clue. Like many others, they had their sights set on the ultimate prize—the golden egg. With each step, the excitement grew, as every discovery brought them closer to that special find. Events like these are more than just games; they’re moments that bring people together, spark joy, and create lasting memories. Whether it was finding colorful eggs or simply enjoying the company of others, today’s Easter egg hunt was a wonderful reminder of the simple pleasures that make community life so special.

Today Rebecca is celebrating 1 year of service here at Bickford. We appreciate everything she does for our facility and especially the residents. Thank you Rebecca!!

So Mandy the Activity Director decided to keep everyone on their toes today She switched up the schedule—AM became PM, PM became AM—and honestly, the residents just rolled with it! We had seated kickboxing this morning (yes, kickboxing from a chair), lots of laughs with riddles around 11, and don’t worry… everyone still got lunch! Floor cleaning somehow turned into a Peep taste test, and what was supposed to be a crying matinee turned into a full-on comedy show By the end of the day, it was nothing but laughter and smiles. Definitely one to remember

Wrapped up the day with some good laughs watching Mrs. Doubtfire. Sometimes the best way to end the day is with a little comedy and a lot of smiles.

Sweet Start to Easter: A Peep Taste Test Adventure Today marked the beginning of our Easter activities, and we kicked things off with a fun (and very sugary!) event—a Peep taste test! Residents had the chance to sample सात different flavors of Peeps, including classic regular, cotton candy, Dr Pepper, butterbeer, strawberry, watermelon, and rice crispy. With such a colorful lineup, everyone was excited to see which flavor would come out on top. As the tasting began, reactions were mixed and often amusing. Some residents insisted that no matter the flavor, “they all just taste like marshmallow!” One tenant even claimed every single Peep tasted like cherry—proving just how unique everyone’s taste buds can be. Despite the differing opinions, one flavor stood out above the rest. After all the sampling and discussion, strawberry was crowned the clear favorite among the group! Along with tasting, we also learned a bit about the history of Peeps. When they were first introduced back in 1953, it took an incredible 27 hours to make just one Peep by hand. Thankfully, innovation came along when the founder’s son created a machine that reduced production time to just six minutes per Peep—a huge leap that helped make them the popular treat we know today. It was a wonderful way to start the Easter season—filled with laughter, conversation, and plenty of sugar. We’re looking forward to more festive activities in the days ahead!
