Nothing has changed since last month for my dad. We are seriously thinking of moving due to poor care
Delayed assessment of my dad at at rehab more than once, who was already a resident. He should be a top priority. Disorganization doesn't give family members a sense of confidence in care abilities of the facility. This is number one goal of family members. Care of their loved ones. Voiced concerns previously.
Poor response to my mother after slipping out of bed she had to call me utilizing her Alexa because nobody would respond to her call button. I tried to call the facility six or seven times with zero answers. Had to call the police and fire department to go to the facility to rescue my mother before staff ever got a chance to get in to see her.
Bathroom door to my mom's room has been broken for several weeks. She has been going to the bathroom in her room. Unsure where they expect her to go if she can't get to the bathroom. The room constantly smells of urine and feces and we have come in to poop on the walls of her room. She is frequently barefoot or wearing one shoe. Staff seems completely uneducated on how to interact with dementia patients. I'm really unsure what she is paying for in this facility. I was so pleased with the facility initially, but honestly, I could provide the same level of care (or lack there-of) and it's so sad because my mom was a devoted caregiver all her life. She is a human, however difficult her dementia makes her, and if I could quit my job to care for her full time I would. It's very distressing to me that I chose this facility for the good care they promised they would provide, and my mom is living like an animal.

Staffing issues
Care seem to be returning to the level it was last winter. Don't know why things got so bad during the summer but I see a slight improvement
After a little over one year, the pricing has increased approximately 20%, there is a large staff turnover from the top to bottom, once my mom gets to know someone they don't come back anymore. You say that the pricing increase is to keep the quality staff, but that is clearly not evident. Where is the money going if not to the care givers?
(Name Removed) is working very hard at getting consistent staffing. Give her the ability to give staff incentives, raises. Etc.
There's been too much back and forth about your significant increase in prices for Bickford residents. And, staffing continues to be a challenge with many of your nurses/nursing director resignations. You don't give much confidence to your residents that things are headed in the right direction.
