Confirmed resident cases at Bickford of Bexley
In today’s uncertain times, we feel a responsibility to be straightforward as to how we are being affected by COVID-19. For this reason, we are displaying the number of active COVID-19 cases for our Branch. At Bickford Senior Living we will lead with transparency so you have the best information available as you make decisions for your loved one.

What a fun Saturday morning. Nino, the therapy dog, and his handler, Kayla, came for an outdoor visit! We reminisced on our past dogs and pets as well as one resident talked about living in Spain for a period of time and shared how “Niño” means “little boy” in Spanish. She laughed and said that this Nino certainly wasn’t little! So many smiles and fun were had during Nino’s visit!

What a fun time playing Scattergories virtually last evening! Thank you to the players for the laughs and your support to the Alzheimer’s Association. We will definitely be playing again!

Dorothy and Alice are checking out the new historical books that were donated to our library. Both of these ladies love history so having these books accessible at their leisure is so important. You will also catch them in the living room every Friday afternoon when Kristen has a history lesson discussion. September’s history theme is famous rivers!

Know the affordability of senior living

Many families are surprised at the affordability of senior living as compared to what they are currently spending at home. Check out our Expense Worksheet to compare for yourself.

Our Menu

Fruit Salad with cottage cheese
This was a favorite for many in the 50’s Diners

Coke a Cola
Every soda fountain and Diner was serving Coke a Cola, we are too

Patti Melt
A grilled seasoned hamburger, served with grilled onions, Swiss cheese on dark rye bread. Ask for some 1000 island dressing if you want to spread on your burger

Grilled Turkey and cheddar cheese Sandwich
This was a classic sandwich served at the old Woolworth stores. Fresh cooked turkey grilled, topped with Cheddar cheese then placed on grilled sour dough bread

Onion Rings
Everyone liked breaded and fried onions to create traditional items at every Diner. Ask for ketchup to dip your onion rings

Harvard Beets
Sliced beets simmered with sugar and white vinegar

Sautéed Zucchini
Zucchini sticks sautéed with a splash of balsamic vinegar

Banana Splits
This has always been a favorite in every soda parlor, a mixture of Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry ice cream, topped with strawberry sauce, pineapple sauce, whipped topping, nuts and sprinkles and of course a banana

Milkshakes and Malts
Bring your blenders and straws because we are making milkshakes in the afternoon. There is nothing like a thick milkshake where you have to suck so hard your head hurts. Your choice of flavors, chocolate, vanilla or strawberry
