Another great week has passed. Every day that we get to know each other we become more like family! How blessed are we that we are in a place that just radiates love and happyness!!! I am still in the process of learning just what kinds of activities are favorites around here. Bickford Bling hat making won out this week!! We had a blast blinging out some custom headgear!! Some impromptu shopping was done, bible study is just more and more special each week, flag day brought some trivia and hors d’ oeuvres, and then we ended out the week with a fabulous cookout celebrating our dads and grand dads!! Mary B’s was very busy this week baking some yummy treats, and enjoying this amazing weather (when it cooperated). Stay tuned for next weeks fun!!!

This last week has brought so many new things... Sunshine being the biggest one!!! We haven’t seen that in a while! Our Mary B’s have been busy baking and socializing. Amy and Stephanie are two of our cna’s And they LOVE baking with the ladies. This week was sugar cookies! We have another new face back there, a cna, and his name is Richard. He made a great first impression with the residents. You’ll see him back there, so welcome him into the Bickford family! I stopped in today and got to do some socializing myself... Tea with Fran, a walk with Mary D. And great conversation with Joy and Mary D. on the front porch. The courtyard had a good group going on today also! Everyone is loving this weather!!

Pop quiz for you folks!!! Just take a look at some of the pictures I have here... There is absolutely a recurring theme. Can you guess what it is?? As I joyfully go through all of my photos each day, reflecting on the days and weeks past… I have noticed a pattern. And this pattern is what makes Bickford so special. It’s what makes us the place to be! It is the reason families bring their love ones here to live. This theme, or pattern if you will, is family and staff involvement. It goes beyond just being a place to work, or just being a temporary place to live. It is the bonds that are created and strengthened each day with our residents and their families. Without our team of BFM’s, and the loving families that team up with us, we wouldn’t be nearly the family that we are today! I just wanted to send out a special thank you to our staff and our loved ones families that make us exactly who we are!

This week has been fun in the sun... Snacks in the courtyard... Memorial Day celebrations... Puzzle completions... Ice cream outings...And remembrances passed. Who knew you could fit SO much fun into a week??? This crazy weather broke long enough this week so we could get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful sunshine!! So many fun times with our residents, and such a blessing to be able to enjoy every single day I have with them! I am looking forward to next week already, and new adventures!

Sometimes the behind the scenes here at Bickford speak volumes. It takes much planning and prep work to bring our residents the activities they deserve! But who says you can’t have fun while you're doing it? I had some great helpers today, Delilah and Chewy!! Delilah is one of our BFM’s daughter and Chewy is our resident shihtzu. He was here visiting our residents today, then had the special task of helping prepare baskets and play with Delilah. I’m super blessed to have a job that I not only love, but also get to be around those people (and pets) that bring me joy!!
