Happy FriYAY!! We didn’t let the rain and gloom bring us down here at Bickford. We celebrated with happy hour and crafts to honor Arbor Day! Of course we had a few snacks as well. I hope everyone has a great weekend and stays warm and dry with all this rain we’re suppose to get!

Happy World Penguin Day! We started today off right by having bible study and saying the lords daily prayer. Lunch service was yummy as always and to follow it up we did Penguin facts and activity sheets. I baked some cookies with the help of our cook to mimic a s’mores and let’s just say there were no left overs because they were just that good! Love seeing all of the smiling faces here at Bickford. We’re almost to weekend (YAY.) I hope everyone had a great day!

A day without bingo is like… just kidding we don’t know that around here! Everyone was a bingo winner today :) We also planted some succulents today for an upcoming event, which was an absolute blast!

April is Occupational Therapists Month! Bickford Senior Living's collaboration with FOX Rehab has allowed us to bring Occupational Therapist, Kelly Wilhelmi on board to assist in keeping each of our residents on the HigherPath. Kelly's personality and drive for his profession are admirable. Not only does he help with making every day tasks a little easier, he speaks to the hearts of each resident and makes them feel home. Manicures and whole some conversations fulfilled our Tuesday. We were so happy the sun came out to shine today, but wow was the wind crazy! Happy to report nobody blew away haha

Happy Monday! We had a nice day, enjoyed our weekly Monday bingo which is always a favorite. We had lots of family visitors in the building today. Which makes everyone here at Bickford so happy, especially the residents. Our flowers we planted a while ago are really sprouting up as well! I hope everyone has a great week :)

What a great relaxing day we had yesterday! Pastor Greg came in for morning bible study and had wonderful conversations about God. We had our new library service start with the Ames public library. They offer home delivery services that our residents can now enjoy. This means they can order any type of books and so forth they may be interested in and it switches out every month for new ones. We wrapped up our evening with a decent amount of family members coming in to visit their loved ones and a great dinner!

Welcome aboard party people! What a fun filled day of cruising the seas. Our cruise theme was Disney inspired. We started off this morning with some treats, music and crafts, followed up by lunch. We played tons of games today, of course the fan favorite was bingo. We had a huge crowd turn out for the day which made my heart so happy! The residents got goody bags and little prizes. It was nice to see the sun come out as well so enjoyed some nice outside time. We wrapped up the day with some more treats and ocean inspired movies :)

Rain or shine we’re having activities here at Bickford of Ames. Didn’t get too many pictures today of everything but, we started off the morning with manicures and then lead into some polka music and dancing with Dale and his lovely partner. We had pearl vision visit with us today to do glasses care for the residents and then we set up for tomorrows big theme day of cruise the seas! Enjoy some sneak peaks of our decorating, and come on down and join us for a cruise tomorrow! Dress code is Disney or Hawaiian outfits :)
